"Friendship was the foundation rock on which Rotary was built and tolerance is the element which holds it together. There is enough atomic energy in every Rotary club to blow it into a thousand bits were it not for the spirit of tolerance."

The Burlington Rotary Club sponsors the Willard J Gross, "Service Above Self" award every year and is designed to reward individuals that put their service to their vocation and to others above pay, before their own well being and sometimes their lives. This project will recognize individuals in the vocations of Firefighter, Law Enforcement, Education and Nursing. These vocations, whether paid or volunteer are on the front lines of helping people and saving lives in our community. It is our Club's desire to reward and to recognize these outstanding people that work in our community. Nominations are due by March 16. Additional nomination forms are available at the State Farm Insurance office. This years award ceremony will be held at "Spices on the Green" at 6:30, on April 4th. Plan on being there to recognize all the nominees!
